Milestone
Last month we sold our 1,000th copy of We Have Always Done It That Way: 101 Things About Associations We Must Change. When we wrote the book, we had absolutely no target for sales. Of course the more people that buy it the better, but we mostly wanted to get the conversation going in the association community about change.
Still, we are pleased in selling 1,000 copies in one year. We even got our first sale through Amazon UK in August. We’re not stopping here, of course. The other four authors and I are working on some updated and new material, and there are still PLENTY of new conversations to be started with the book. Thanks to everyone who supported us in this work.

Congratulations, Jamie (and the rest of the Independent Thinkers)! It’s great to hear about the ongoing success of WHADITW.
Just out of curiosity–are there any conversations you expected to see springing up based on the book that you haven’t seen at all yet?
Jamie Notter
Well, the short answer is “I don’t know.” We only get sporadic accounts of how the book is changing conversations. The ones who do contact us have great stories to tell, but it makes it hard to determine what conversations are NOT popping up, because there are so many we just don’t hear about.

That’s awesome! Good work.
